A word of advice: if I offend you to the point where seeing my posts in your timeline upsets your day, feel free to unfollow me.

If you're concerned that other people you follow might boost my posts, and seeing those in your timeline might upset your day, mute me.

If you're concerned that I will still see your posts, and I might reply to one of them in a way that paints you in a bad light (but you won't see it because I'm muted), then go ahead and block me outright.

You are under no obligation to ever see stuff in your timeline that you don't want to see. I promise you I will take no offense whatsoever. And just because I follow you doesn't mean I expect you to follow me back, either (but if you really don't want me following you, then hit the block button).

@GrahamDowns this is the right approach, empowering users to craft their own experiences by using tools like blocking and muting.

I wish that was more of a focus of development around here.
