The people behind #FreeOurFeeds seem great, but I don't think #ATproto is the way to go. imo it's a wasted opportunity to have an effort like this get behind such an inherently centralized protocol, instead of #ActivityPub which is already doing what everybody wants. It only lacks adoption, which is exactly what publicity like this can provide.

govts and media orgs already have their own servers on fedi, allowing them direct access to constituents/consumers. like the web and email. #SocialWeb

It seems to me to be the exact opposite, with a ton of functionality specifically to avoid all sources of centralization.
