Why would the PRC government allow the forced sale of #TikTok to someone in the USA? It seems like that would increase the risk of other successful Chinese export firms getting their operations here expropriated. Seems like the safest approach would be forbid the sale. Am I missing something?

@dmarti I think you're right. There are so many reasons for PRC not to allow the sale, even reasons that play into the xenophobic fears of the politicians that set this up.

I guess the Chinese government might like the income from the sale, but I don't think it's a huge benefit for them to receive that payment.

It seems like they have so many other reasons to block the sale even if it means they don't get that cash.
