Just...so, so depressed scrolling the update feed of everything Trump's been up to in simply the last few hours, & seeing some Dems kowtow while the rest argue amongst themselves. I just don't understand why we want so desperately to regress to a worse time rather than make things better for everyone.
Really the best I can hope for is that he wastes so much time the next 4yrs pulling dumb performative stunts like renaming the Gulf of Mexico & crypto BS that he never gets around to cutting my Medicaid & SSI, because I literally cannot survive without those, & I have no community to fall back on for any help. People keep urging us to build communities, but what if we have none, & no ability to build our own?
Plus Trump already did try cutting my Medicaid in February 2020...& his policy changes to SSI got me a review request under Biden. I don't know I can make it another 4yrs. I'm genuinely afraid of what will happen to me. 😞 #uspol #politics
@tehuti88 The most important thing is to realize that the president only implements the laws passed by Congress. THEY are really the source of the problems, and we keep reelecting the same congresspeople that fail us over and over again.
We need to stop. We need to boot out an awful lot of congresspeople and not let them escape accountability by pointing to the other branch of government.
Nothing's going to improve so long as they keep passing bad laws.
