#Trump admin says it cannot meet court deadline for #ForeignAid payments

Trump's admin said in a court filing that it “cannot" meet a federal US District Judge Amir Ali’s 11:59 PM Wed deadline for releasing frozen funds to foreign #aid contractors & grant recipients, potentially setting the stage for it to openly disobey the order.

The admin asked the DC appeals court to put Ali's order on hold so it can consider the appeal.

So all of this ↑ just happened.

It went just as you’d expect.

DC Appeals Court said, no to the #Trump admin, you have to obey Judge Ali’s order to pay by midnight.

Then the #DOJ went straight to #SCOTUS, who – you guessed it – sided w/Trump.

@Nonilex it's not that SCOTUS sided with Trump, but that it takes more than a few hours to sort out what's going on.

Really, this isn't about Trump at all, but about whether the lower court acted properly. THAT's who the appeals court is going to be judging, not Trump.
