@volkris @yukiame Journalism. All the newspapers decided to write at a sixth grade reading level to make sure that everybody understood what was being said and of course to sell more papers. This has been going on for almost a century. Prior to that writing was more verbose & focused on employing a wider vocabulary to infer a higher intelligence of the writer. This pseudo intellectual smugness persisted in long article magazines
