@MikeDunnAuthor The problem is, replacing their services would be even more costly.

@volkris

Why replace their services? Tesla produces luxury items for the rich, toys they don't need, toys that are falsely marketed as "green." Sure, electric cars put out no carbon, except when you consider how that electricity was produced. The batteries require lithium, which is incredibly bad for the environment. They shred through tires faster than traditional cars, leaving a toxic trail of spent plastic and rubber, and requiring an increase in plastics usage to manufacture more.

And how 'bout SpaceX rockets? Shitloads of carbon emissions from each launch. Shitloads of plastic and metal dumped into the Caribbean with each failed launch. And again, what useful or necessary service or product do they provide?

@MikeDunnAuthor replace the services because the US government has on a remarkably bipartisan and democratic basis determined that these are services that make the country better.

Feel free to try to change minds about that, but for now the US government wants these services, and it will cost more to provide them without these companies.
