I guess because like five of us are saying something, what was done to Chris Krebs is an absolute injustice and a mockery of his selfless service.

America no longer supports or protects critical infrastructure defenders. I hope someone else appreciates him a lot more.

I know he can’t reply.

@hacks4pancakes the thing is, if all affected companies in a field (lawyers, infosec etc.) stood together against this crap then they would all be OK.

This flat out bullying can only work when single companies are targeted and everyone else closes their eyes.

@hacks4pancakes @Triddle I'm incredibly impressed how much America resists unionisation, especially right now. And especially after the last few years of sweeping layoffs in the tech sector.

You really were all taught very well in how to ignore your own best interests.

@Cyberoutsider @hacks4pancakes @Triddle It’s the soul of American politics, unfortunately. See also that quote from Gore Vidal.

@acsawdey @Cyberoutsider @hacks4pancakes "lying and cheating" that one?
You have the epitome of that in the oval office right now.

That's the core of the problem, and it needs to change.

I can't even imagine how a convicted felon is even allowed to run for president. In other countries that would disqualify from any public service position, let alone President.

Follow

@Triddle But that highlights the critical lesson here: a convicted felon is allowed to run for president because the US has institutions to promote democratic choice.

If the people want to elect a convicted felon, well, they get what they want. Yay democracy!

The reason this needs to be highlighted is because the path to solid change isn't from forcing things top down but about engaging the general population that chose this path. There is no shortcut to going out and addressing the concerns of fellow voters.

So many people have forgotten that over the generations, and this is the predictable result.
