music is for me also about quality,
I need no feedback in concerts, no unintended noise, in recordings no scratches or what ever does not belong there

for that reason, I've never understood the appeal to listen to historical classical recordings, audible spectrum is so limited missing lower frequencies not to mention higher ones, only surviving seam to be from 440 to 900 or so

I don't care how prominent the musician has been, I do not like it, it hurts #classicalMusic

@wobweger Well for what it's worth, and this isn't my perspective really, but for a lot of people context will add a lot to the experience.

Musically it's kind of like saying the melody doesn't really need the percussion that's in the back keeping time, but even a simple percussive beat can add context to the melody.

So for a lot of people these other qualities add more context to the literal scripted frequencies.
