Donald Trump is a gift to terminally mediocre Third Way social democratic politicians around the world
Literally, the socialist and communist left has been decimated since the 90s, and so people flock to the most leftist faction with real visibility: painfully centrist losers who have no real vision beyond "not being Trump" or "not being Poilievre"
This makes a future right wing victory more likely than it would be if there was a robust left.
Another irony of Trumpism
The irony of Trump's win is that the weakening of American imperialism that his policies bring will help socialists in areas like Latin America.
It's really kind of funny to me. Voice Of America was always a CIA mouthpiece, and it makes no sense for Trump to get rid of it.
@burnoutqueen I wouldn't say it's particularly ironic, though. It seems pretty consistent with Trump's messaging.
