#scotus majority has decided that the fourth amendment doesn’t apply if the federal government doesn’t like how you look or talk. We are deep into the white supremecist takeover of the United States and none of your rights are safe. reuters.com/world/us/us-suprem

@vanvoorden Another 50-year-old precedent destroyed by this SCOTUS, taking away the rights of the people of this country. There is no legitimacy to the Supreme Court now: they are merely pseudo-intellectual legal cover for the Trump administration’s crimes.

@dgregor79 No, that's the opposite of what the Supreme Court said in their opinion. They actively went out of their way to be clear that that is not what they were saying.

@vanvoorden

@volkris @dgregor79 If we're talking about the six conservative justices… "they" provided no explanation for their ruling as is typical for these "emergency" docket decisions.

@volkris @dgregor79 If we're talking about the Kavanaugh essay attached to the decision — which pinky swears that race along is not a legit factor for these stops — then let's also consider:

"[R]easonable suspicion means only that immigration officers may briefly stop the individual and inquire about immigration status. If the person is a U. S. citizen or otherwise lawfully in the United States, that individual will be free to go after the brief encounter."

@volkris @dgregor79 Which we all know is total bullshit. Citizens and lawful residents have and are being held and detained. These are not "brief" encounters.
