Elections are political theater, a mass mind control op whose purpose is to convince us that we have a say in how we are ruled. We don't. The US is not a democracy, it's an oligarchy. Oligarchs rule us. Politicians are their puppets. The Supreme Court is bought and paid for. Law enforcement is bought and paid for. They're *all* bought and paid for. The system itself is corrupt. A choice between puppets is no choice at all.
If we really want to see positive changes in how society works we're going to have to make them ourselves with our own hands, from the ground up.
There are two ways to do this, violently or nonviolently. We can fight #CivilWar2 or we can stage a #GeneralStrike.
I favor the latter. Let's start small. A single day sick-in would be an excellent show of force. Then we could escalate to one day per work week actions. We could call them "Moral Mondays". Or something. We'll think of a name.

Bizarre to talk about voters not having control and democracy not existing in context of a system of voters voting and democratically empowering officials.

In reality, we voted for this mess. We should stop submitting our votes for a bunch of idiots, but we did and we do.

It's not bizarre in the least. It's sad, but it is the facts of the matter. Only direct democracy even *is* democracy. Anything less is a fraud and a sham. Even if "representative democracy" was a valid concept, we USasians don't have it. Our electoral results are severely distorted by voter suppression, gerrymandering, and the so-called "Electoral College". It takes seven voters in California to equal one voter in Wyoming. How fair is that?
