@sidereal How is it inaccurate?
@volkris private property isn't a private activity. All property law is a function of state regulations.
@thesquirrelfish not really.
Contrast it with something like copyright. Copyright is a function of state regulation saying that only one person can claim ownership of ideas, an artificial restriction created by the state and delineated by law.
On the other hand, it's not the state saying that, I don't know, only one person can drive a car at once. That's a result of nature. Only one person can control a physical item at once.
Private property arises out of the natural concept of scarcity. Here is a thing. It can only exist at one place at a time, it can only move one way at a time. That is physical law of nature territory.
Property law is merely recognition of that reality.
It's based on premises or assumptions that are complete bullshit; essentially the ancap delusional fantasy of capitalism without state, something that has never existed and cannot exist.

There's no need to stretch things. No need to look for any kind of conspiracy theory.
It's simply that, here's a thing, and we can count the number of things that this thing is, it is only one thing, we can count to one, and that's that.
All of these theories that complicate trying to reach some political objective, but no, we can count to one. No need to stretch, we'll count these, and we get to one, and that's the end.
Sometimes simple realities are the way to go.

I’ve had this person blocked for a while and I’m pretty sure it’s because I suspected them of attempting to insert covert fascism on fedi
@HeavenlyPossum @RD4Anarchy “covert”
In that they will explicitly deny being a fascist while defending or downplaying fascism at every turn.
@HeavenlyPossum @RD4Anarchy booooooooooooo
"In that they will explicitly deny being a fascist while defending or downplaying fascism at every turn."
Ah. A centrist, you say....
;)

When I first came across this exchange I thought I recognized the name and had a feeling I'd left a personal note on the profile. I checked and sure enough:
PERSONAL NOTE
claimed that Trump ordering museums etc to "remove improper ideology" is "not the descent into fascism so many frantic about. It's just dumb marketing from a snake oil salesman." Also thinks Trump admin is making things better for science in the US.
@RD4Anarchy Yeah that sounds about right, you really don't seem to understand the concept that here's a thing and only one person can have it at one time.
That's the underlying fact behind property. And yes, you don't seem to appreciate it.
The point is, if you can count to one, you can understand property. That is, if a person isn't just too busy trying to use government to force to their advantage.
@RD4Anarchy start anywhere!
If my reply is so packed with falsehoods, it shouldn't be hard to start laying them out.
Please! Show me the errors in my ways!
@volkris@qoto.org
None are so ready to find fault with others as those who do things worthy of blame themselves (as Mark Twain schools us)
You are like a pig begging to learn to sing and blaming others cuz u can't learn
Sealioning all the way: it's tiresome and DEFINITELY someone not worth engaging with
I'd explain to you why what you're saying is fucking stupid, only if you paid me
Cuz I've seen you make bad faith arguments up and down threads for a while now so hold this block.
To whom it may concern:
The concept of ownership (especially in the context of what we call "real estate": artificial and violently imposed divisions of the planet and biosphere, a whole of which we are all inextricably a part and on which we all depend) is not some sort of natural law or mathematical principle. It is a social construct, and one that is not even universal among human cultures.

@volkris @RD4Anarchy @sidereal
Okay. There is ONE planet Earth.
And yet, billions of us have to figure out how to share it at the same time. Go figure.
@violetmadder @volkris @RD4Anarchy @sidereal Capitalism has a whole zoo of ways of dividing up ownership of a single thing. Company shares, for example.
@ghouston @volkris @RD4Anarchy @sidereal
That's not what sharing used to mean. At all.
@violetmadder Yes, exactly!
@volkris @RD4Anarchy @sidereal
You saw me use the word "share" there, right? Because that's the opposite of what you had just said.
@RD4Anarchy @volkris @sidereal ⏫ that makes two of us.. I stopped reading about halfway into the first paragraph because I was like I'm pretty sure that rd's response is going to be wtf dym
And I was right so I saved time :-)
Why are you licking the taint of landlords?
@volkris if this is a joke it isn’t funny or accurate or insightful
