What do you think of an option to ban politics from the feed on account registration like this:
Effectively, when you click “no politics”, it should block the !news@lemmy.world, !politics@lemmy.world, !politicalmemes@lemmy.world, !pravda_news@news.abolish.capital communities and such.
It would help clear up the feed and be more attractive to new users. Maybe this could even be the default view when you’re not logged in.
Critical support for a “no politics” filter that just gives you a 100% blank feed.
frankly, i disagree with the “everything is politics” proverb. if i talk about ATP synthase, i don’t consider it politics.
Imagine thinking science isn’t politics. There’s literally an “Evolution” heading on that page and you think ATP synthase isn’t woke?

Kind of like imagining that when I flick this light switch it's going to turn on the light instead of triggering a revolution in some South American country.
The whole point of science, of the scientific method, is to keep stuff like politics out of the process.
So yeah I think about it a lot, and I imagine it a lot, because it's true.
Science and politics are not the same.
