#SCOTUS agreed Friday that #energy companies facing lawsuits over #environmental damage to Louisiana’s #coast from #oil & #gas production can move the challenges from #state courts into friendlier #federal venues.

The ruling is a significant victory for oil companies, led by #Chevron & #ExxonMobil, in their legal battle with #Louisiana state officials over who should pay for the state’s #coastal #erosion. The companies have been supported by the #Trump admin.

The justices unanimously agreed to allow the #oil companies to fight the lawsuits in #federal court rather than #state court.

“Congress has long authorized federal officers & their agents to remove suits brought against them in state court to federal court,” Justice #ClarenceThomas wrote.

Someone got laid AND paid.
Fed court wont do anything for a county..even in a red state, when it concerns climate change.
Trimps judge shoppping network makes that possible.

Trump is not involved in this case.

It's between states and Chevron.

If Trump was involved he might simply drop the case or settle nicely, but since he's not, the prosecution of Chevron continues after this decision.

The Court was unanimous in its decision. Not a single justice said "three dipsticks" got it wrong. Maybe don't fall for the dramatic sensationalized stories so many are telling about the members of the Court.

And yet, they were still not involved in the case itself. They merely pointed out laws dictating the venue where the trial was to be heard.
