A lot of #Canadian political pundits keep saying "It's not the country we blame but Trump specifically." And I'm getting more & more skeptical of that.
Yes I know that MANY American regular people are as much victims as anyone.... but #Trump is shitting on #Canada & other allies (and on Americans!) and it feels like NO ONE in the administration is pushing back or voicing disagreement. Has he so completely turned the party into sycophants??

I can't even fathom the damage these repeated gut-punches are doing to Americans and all of #America's friends. Other countries will never trust the USA again & American citizens won't trust their own government again.
Trump turned what he claimed was a swamp into an abusive, contagious, wood-chipper that sucks up all of America's good will, innovation, global soft power, and internal stability and shreds it into chum for the sharks running the country.

This is the lesson the world didn't learn about the US for about twenty years now: The president is not the country or even the government. He speaks ONLY for his administration, and only for the moment.
We don't have a parliamentary system.
The US stance, above the administration stance, comes from consensus between branches. The position of one branch is only that branch, and is not reliable.
Trust what's codified in law and regulation.
Has it been passed as treaty? No? Then it's nothing but a handshake agreement between individuals, without the reliable backing of the country.
From JCPOA through climate agreements, this was all foreseeable, but you'd never know from the portrayal by international news organizations.
