A LOT OF TALK THIS MORNING about calls to "reform" #SCotUS.
Both Rep. Ro Khanna on #FnS and Sen. Corey Booker on #MtP called for "expanding the court" & "term limits" (Khanna went even further, limiting every prez to "2 appointments"… leaving a vacancy to the next prez if they already got their two.) 🤦♂️ 😒
NO NO NO NO.
There IS a way to reform the court w/o resorting to likely unconstitutional modifications sure to be challenged by the #GOP:
There's no even-handed solution that will appease the fascists, because they want the Supreme Court to enable the Fuhrer and ignore the rule of law. They will certainly reject any scheme that would make SCOTUS more independent and less bribeable.
Republicans are against democracy and the rule of law. Whatever solution to the Court we choose, if there's a future Republican President nominating a new justice, we chose wrong.

It's not about the Supreme Court but about the population electing a Republican to president.
It's a problem on the political side, not the legal side. Democrats have failed to put forward candidates more appealing than the low bar set by Republicans. You can't fix that by messing with the Court.
