@Pat It is an interesting development. They are building protocols for developers to build social platforms and other stuff, and bring content interoperability. Dorsey funded it with $13 million a while back. Made sure Twitter would have no controlling stake in it (possibly cause of the turbulence he faced when he was CEO).

You could argue that since it is still owned by someone (the Bluesky team), it could be acquired by someone, say Musk.

And unless it is made a non-profit entity like W3C's ActivityPub, it can't be ruled out that Bluesky will end up with a corporation. Will have to wait and watch.

@Pat you're right. Except, Bluesky is not owned by Twitter but the Bluesky team itself.

It's funny how people think Twitter is dying now that people are 'migrating' to Mastodon since Elon Musk has taken over. Litte do they know Twitter is close to releasing a Mastodon-esque decentralised platform. Watch out for Bluesky.
