Yeah, email has no practical benefit.
And this World Wide Web thing will never take off.
They’re both too decentralized. We all use AOL anyway.
@hittitezombie @nixCraft
That one comes up on occasion in my shell as I use a randomizer of all the available drawing in cowsay (see first screenshot I shared) 😋
@nixCraft That's a classic! As cool as it is, I've gone with fortune lolcat and cowsay combo with a random allocation of drawing for cowsay. Got this in .bashrc
Just #Firefox quietly closing in on #Chrome on the Speedometer #performance test on Nightly (lower is better on this graph):

@trinsec for what it's worth, appear I wasn't affected. Just found one account I follow on mstdn.social (Linux) which is still in my list. No idea if I lost some but following number doesn't seem to have dropped - not that I keep exact track of it
@trinsec that's quite saddening. Was mentioning this to someone as one major trouble of the fediverse
@feditips
*Action would be taken against bad behaviour on my instance (such as hate speech but not limited to...) but not against other instances, because sometimes you need to see what's cooking elsewhere
@feditips
Decentralisation is key but is also up for argument. I'm part of an instance that is opened (no filters) even to the worst. Because the community has valid reason to check on it, and the admin make it the responsibility of users to filter out (with advice). Said instance also get filtered for not filtering. It's a hard trade game when everyone make their own rules.
@1HommeAzerty je l'avais pas du tout, et même après vérif sur youtube je connaissais pas. Connais l'artiste de nom mais la chanson c est une première J ai le nom du roman par contre 🤡
Read an article today about why Americans think alcohol has health benefits and it's apparently another "well the French are healthy and they do X so it's healthy to do X."
So here's your periodic reminder that France (and Italy, and Sweden, and Japan, and basically every country you've seen in a "this country is so healthy, what's their secret?" headline) has universal health care.
The secret is access to health care. It's always access to health care.
@gabe April fools joke? As I understand QOTO doesn't curate a lot of the federated timeline and that's wanted behaviour (there's clear policy on local timeline for QOTO users). It's the user responsibility to block some. Found this for example which is a domain block list apparently created by @freemo though I don't have evidence or a point to a source that confirm the genuine origin in the article
