A nice overview of the Google vs Facebook vs indie Framework battlefield. Personally I go with React because #Clojurescript is so good at it. What is your preference and why?

@worldsendless I learned on React. I don't really do any webdev anymore though. I'm basically just doing Infrastructure now. I do miss webdev a bit.
@writh Was the switch away from webdev a matter of opporttunity, or other reasons? Webdev hits that sweet spot of learning, gratification, and coding for me
@worldsendless I intended to go toward security in the first place. I did a dev bootcamp, thinking I would start in webdev and try to transition into websec. I ended up working as a helpdesk tech for a bit, then transitioned into a sysadmin role. From there I have moved into a security role. It was an organic transition. I am not really doing websec, but I find endpoint security really cool. Its rewarding and I spend a lot of time learning.
@writh that sounds like a terrific success story, worth a "congratulations"
@writh I feel much the same about my boss, always representing and defending us. Too bad he's retiring now...
The PhD has been on hold since the onset of the pandemic, when things got overwhelming despite remote work due to massive influx of demands. I am working my way back in to it now, hoping to nail some publications as soon as possible.
@worldsendless I'm sorry to hear that you had to put the PhD on hold. Here's to hoping you can get it back on track soon.
