Continuing my quest to get my full fiber-optic speed With my new router my ground-zero (no obstructions, full bars connection) wifi speedtest is 35% of the speed I get when bypassing the router by putting hard line right in to computer. Before the new router it was 15%. Still debugging to figure out what is slowing it down.

From what I hear from phpc.social/@carbontwelve/1083

I am probably getting about what I should expect from my wifi.

@worldsendless I can’t get more than ~490mbit on a 5ghz connection to my router, that rapidly drops to ~50mbit only 10 or so meters away.

@carbontwelve I feel better, then. That is pretty close to what I am getting via 5ghz

@souldessin What speed do you get on your wireless? I am coming to believe that this slowness is the norm

@worldsendless
I have ubiquiti edgerouter and a unifi AP. Mine is only a single antenna AC unit and I can get up to 400Mbps.

I just got so fed up with the consumer units having issues and I was doing business installs. I talked on the hardware to one of the bills as my profit margin. It has been worth it.
