I have a general distaste for #mysql, and use #PostGres when I need SQL (except WordPress) and realized that I don't really know why I have issues with it, other than its proximity to the past's bad PHP. Is there any backup for my MySQL dislike?

I do agree about the past, though. If you didn't mind your P's & Q's, it would bite you in the worst of ways and at the worst of times.
