How to follow someone when they've sent you a link to their profile:

0. See that giant follow button? Ignore it. It's a trap.
1. Copy the URL from the address bar.
2. Navigate to your server.
3. Paste the URL in the search bar.
4. Click follow.

I'm honestly just not going to follow many people on #mastodon until #UX issues like that are streamlined.
