Hi
Just got asked on the IRC channel about how to export to SVG from LibreOffice draw
I wasn't sure so I had a go, however I got an error as per video below
Input / Output error
other user is using OpenSuse and seems to get the same issue.
Is anyone else having the same problem

Hi
Looks like 7.0.4.2. This is installed as a snap package on Debian.
I need to figure out how to update snap packages too.
@zleap Try with 7.1.1, in case it's fixed in that (the latest release as of today)...
I need to figure out how to upgrade the snap package.
Debian shows
snap search libreoffice
Name Version Publisher Notes Summary
libreoffice 7.0.4.2 canonical✓ - LibreOffice is a powerful office suite including word processing and creation of spreadsheets, slideshows and databases
I'm on a Debian-derived system (Pop) and can confirm that's also what snap shows for me. And that's the latest version (from any channel) on snapcraft
https://snapcraft.io/libreoffice
You can grab a 7.1.1 version of the .deb directly from the site, though

flathub is on a pretty new version: 7.1.1.2 (Updated yesterday, so yeah that's pretty new).

But the AppImage has "daily" builds. Not sure if they're literally daily, but pretty close:
7.2.0.0.alpha0
The head commit at the time it was built was a commit from 2021-03-02
For just an experiment, AppImage might be the easiest one to run once & throw away, too.

I get the same error on Gentoo.

I propose to use inkscape to draw in real vector. Native SVG format, a lot of tools, excellent manual from Tavmjong Bah http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/
@zleap Hi Paul, what version are you running? It works fine with LibreOffice 7.1.1 on macOS (Big Sur). Maybe it's an issue with a certain library on that Linux distro?
