@CarolynStearns Yeaj snakes are good at camoflage too, i am sure some look like rope coils for that reason.

I remember watching a documentary on presstv (it was mentioned on fedi years ago) this is the Iranian spider tailed viper. Any animal or bird thinking the end of the snake was a tasty spider was in for a shock should they try and eat.
