About a year ago, I made a simple #Mastodon #Presentation, using @libreoffice
It is on
https://salsa.debian.org/zleap-guest/mastodonpresentation
If it is useful, please feel free to git clone.
Thank you
@zleap @libreoffice
A simple tip, in that it doesn't mention distributed thing much.
If you're into expanding it, a few days ago I saw a great explanation: your handle is like your phone number, and the instance is your phone provider. So you come pick a provider, and they give you (or let you pick) a number: the same for e.g. mastodon: you pick an instance, and then you pick a handle there.
You can still call people at other providers/instances, you can send each other messages etc, like in the phone analogy. Even posting to local vs federated timeline has some (for us invisible) price difference.
Finally, between some providers e.g. in different countries, you can send one type of stuff but not the other - like MMS messages. And on fediverse it is similar, some things like #funkywhale or #peertube allow posting audio or video, but mastodon readers cannot get that.
But I'm not sure if it's necessary. I just liked it a lot.
I will look in to this, thanks, I am trying to balance beginner friendly with informative without bombardng people with too much info.
Looks like the link has been shared a few times, so maybe there will be a few forks of the presentation at some point, which is the whole idea.
@zleap Great work!
