Looks good, how do we get opportunities like this listed on @flockingbird ?
@DIAS_Dublin @zleap What is this hashtag used for, what is "jobfairy"? I've never seen it on the fediverse, but we can introduce it. not?
@flockingbird @zleap on the other site people sharing jobs used #jobfairy to help ensure that people looking for work saw the posts
Not head of that either, but good idea to agree on using a consistent hashtag
@DIAS_Dublin Thanks
We've added it to our list of hashtags for indexable posts so anything with this tag will be catched and included from now on.
Out of curiosity, from looking at the usage here, it seems mostly Irish and some Scottish. Is it a local thing?
Sounds a good idea to me, btw how do I sign up to Flockingbird ? I can find the website, view some profiles but not sure how to create an account.
Thanks
@zleap @DIAS_Dublin We haven't released anything that you would sign up for yet.
What would you want to sign up to? What would you expect it to do for you?
Well looking for an alternative to LinkedIn perhaps @flockingbird can help put OSS projects in touch with people who can help, for either paid or unpaid work. In time as people join then we already have people posting opportunities for Post Doc research.
@flockingbird will serve people not corporate interests surely.
@zleap @flockingbird The #jobfairy tag worked well on the bird site. Why try to reinvent the wheel?
