@Jaden2 the history of gun control is borne out of racism. The realities affecting the black community on either side of the reality of gun violence is often ignored.
The hard truth is we need America to repair the damage it continues to inflict on black people. The poverty caused by that reality makes us dependent on a system we have little representation in. Keeping us as an afterthought.

I am white, however I really hope that Mastodon and the fediverse can be both a force for good and a force for change not just in the US but elsewhere too.
We are all equal here, I am trying to stand with everyone else here, making it clear I am white, and still want to support the cause and fight for equality.
I have seem posts that are aimed at 'white people' as if we are all some how part of the problem.
The problem is the system, to change the system we all need to stand together.
I dont want to get invovled in debates on race, I want to figure how how we can use the knowledge / resources we have or know about to make the world better for people.
