Perhaps one way to solve this would be to build an alternative, perhaps decentralised and open so that people then have a choice of platform.
Indeed, I guess the closest we have at the moment to video sharing is peertube, could we some how modify so it is closer to what tik tok does, just without the data gathering?
Do we even need to do that, can we make an app that focuses more on that.
