I get that impression too, sounds like a really good idea to teach the basics, something I can help promote if nothing else.

I had a few people at code club wanting to learn about cybersecurity, in trying to find resources I decided to start with learning the bash shell and found resources for that, then found resources on networking, scripting etc and eventually get to cybersecurity.
