Good point,

@zleap @katecoldwind @kityates I work in health and social care (in business support/IT, not treating patients) but I see at first hand the problems that are occuring - the govt keeps outsourcing/privatising various parts of healthcare but not even providing sufficient funding, creating a crisis where no one wants to work in the industry as they can get better pay and conditions even in retail jobs or driving taxis etc (with less stress and travel requirements)

I think the BBC did an interview with a care worker a while back, he got promoted to a more supervisory position and was rewarded with a whole 2p per hour pay rise.

@zleap @katecoldwind @kityates for those who aren't directly employed by the Council or NHS the wages are limited by the funding that is allocated to providers. My employers are constantly lobbying the Council for fairer amounts, but its a Conservative council and they just stall on spending any more money on health and social care (the paradox is its the generation who are our service users who keep electing those fools!)
