I keep getting confused as to why people are acting all confused about how Mastodon works. It works like Twitter used to work! And then I realize: Twitter hasn't worked like this for 10+ years, a lot of people don't remember when Twitter was like Mastodon is now.

I get the impression a lot of people don't understand computers or networking very well, Or perhaps they are told it is complex so they are less confident understanding it.
It is about how we explain things, one way would be to say imagine you can post to Twitter and get a reply from Facebook, or vice versa, now expand that to posting to youtube and replying from twitter all of this happens seemlessly.
