Dear #ActivityPub experts: if a video platform federates with ActivityPub, should it broadcast `Create` activities with `Video` objects or `Note`s with Videos as attachments the way posting a video on Mastodon does?

Would Mastodon know what to do if it received a `Create`->`Video` activity? Should the sending server adapt what it sends to the known capabilities of the receiving server?

Confirming that Mastodon does not know what to do with a Video as a top-level entity over the wire. You have to send a Video packaged as an attachment of a Note for Mastodon to be able to render it. In the screenshots, my Mastodon server accepted the first but discarded the second.

I'm just thinking about how neat it would be to have a TikTok-like server where people could interact with your videos from their favorite fediverse app.

But I agree that a tiktok interface would make a lot more sense for the type of videos being uploaded, peertube is better for longer viceos, perhaps a more formal series.

However would it be possible to have a tiktok style interface that either uploads to peertube or simply modify peertube to allow for this too.
