I know I am a broken record but I feel the need to make sure everyone is aware of these laws and the dangers they pose.
I have gifted this article about FL teachers removing books from their classrooms. “Breaking the law is a third-degree felony, meaning that a teacher could face up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine for displaying or giving students a disallowed book.”
@jackiegardina
You are sounding the alarm, which is vital as Florida falls further under Dictator D’s fascist regime. We cannot allow his influence to spread.
@thejenniwren And Florida is not alone. I wrote a blog about it after I unsuccessfully tried to "thread" a story on Sunday. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/battle-democracy-starts-classroom-jackie-gardina
@jackiegardina @thejenniwren @JenX I’m in “liberal” California and the FLorida version of our state (Orange County) is even trying to pull this crap out here. Big shocker here, but the conservatives on the school board conspired behind closed doors (illegally) to fire the superintendent and replace him w/someone who supports this censorship. We need some judges w/half a shred of ethics left to put a stop to this nonsense
@jackiegardina @twitterreject @thejenniwren @JenX
Agreed, and they know this so how long before school boards are replaced with the minions who will do the bidding of these republicans ?
@zleap @jackiegardina @thejenniwren @JenX honestly, Orange County is the florida of California. It houses 90% of the worst people in CA. They all have a ton of $ and enact republican policies. Most of us have written it off as just the asshole of CA and stay away from it. As long as it doesn’t spread, they can destroy themselves
