So what is the big bright object to the the upper right ? looks like a 2nd Galaxy to the right of that (edge on) and the same but perhaps further away below that.
You can really see the halo in this galaxy which illustrates the level of influence the galaxy has or the actual size.
@zleap That's a star in the Milky Way. It has diffraction spikes in different colors because this color-composite image was made from a combination of 3 images in different filters, which were all taken as part of different observing programs, and they all have different orientations. So when the 3 images were aligned, the diffraction spikes come out at different orientations in the R, G, and B channels of the color image.
