Not to sound harsh, or even suggest this should happen If someone was to ID those who make these laws up, then ID those with kids, then use the gun laws to approach and shoot these kids (dead) then perhaps the lawmakers will actually sit up and take note,
The way I see things this is the ONLY way the US will be promoted to change.
If kids of citizens get slaughtered then politicians don't seem to care that much. If politicians or their families get shot, mugged, stabbed, robbed or beaten up etc then the story is vastly different.

Same here, it keeps happening and will keep happening, the voices of reason here are just that but taking in to an echo chamber.
The USA is just a crazy country, mind you why would terror groups like ISIS bother to attack and kill people when the people there just kill each other.
