‘The Frick Pittsburgh postponed an exhibition featuring 10 centuries of Islamic art that was supposed to open on Saturday, citing the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war and the fear that the show could become “a source of unintended insensitivity or offense.”… “… the collection was supposed to help people understand the diversity of Islamic art… it included works by Muslims, Jews and Christians... The collection is so far away from anything that is remotely political or sympathetic to fanaticism.”’ #arthistory

Sounds really interesting and could have the potential to bring communities together.

Maybe the USA is not the best country for this at the moment.

@zleap it was an over-reaction. Which seems to be the rule in politics now.

@LauraJG

Yes I agree, anything remotely sensitive too these days.

Like old TV programs, why have trigger warning?, If I don't want to watch something i switch channel or switch over.

And even if there is out dated language I know the program is from say the 70s and just ignore it.

Or in the case of movies like remember the Titans it reflects the period of the time, but the movie is about how the team overcomes racial divisions.
