I come from a generation of computer nerds that got suspicious when a single character appeared where it didn't belong. "Stop everything we must have a virus". Our little Commodores didn't even have important info in them.
People installing apps at will on their personal devices that include banking / biometric details, is mind blowing to me.
WhatsApp is the most advanced virus spyware malicious code ever made. People install it *willfully* I have lost a lot of connections because I refuse to.
You make up for those lost connections here, i guess. People have also said conversation and community is better.
So maybe think of it as not your loss, but a loss to the people who refuse to switch.
There is always Telegram etc of course for messaging.
