This from BBCNews #India is shocking; the abuse & humiliation of #women is endemic across the country with little evidence of any sustained attempt to address this issue.
Given India's claims around its #democratic culture, the plight of women & girls is extraordinary, inasmuch as it indicates a disconnect (as so often) between claims for a modern polity & the continuing discrimination & violence towards women.
[I should add that India is not alone with these problems]
The UK government can't condemn this without surely also condeming the behaviour of the Isreali IDF parading adult men AND Boys (person under 18) in their underwear, holding people without trial and this is just in the West Bank.
The UK government does not want to be seen to be critical of Israel.
However if Russia does any of the above, the condemnation is clear and immediate, shows total lack of regard for humanity and total double standards.
