@Melissabeartrix My experience wasn't so bad - I was 12 years old and bald, so everyone at the museum lock-in thought I was a boy. Which I didn't realize, despite the camp counselor having me put my stuff in the boys' sleeping area, until the other girls screamed when I walked into the restroom.

At this point, the camp counselor asked me why a little girl would choose to have no hair. And I explained to him about leukemia and chemotherapy, and he looked ashamed.

I would hope that this learning would end up in the camp training manual so other staff are more aware the side effects of medical treatments ( I am dropping down geerally here ), there is also a condition called alopecia (probably bad spelling) that causes hair loss so being aware generally is helpful.
