Europe is at the crossroads.
For three years we have spent billions helping Ukraine fight the Russian empire. And now Trump is entering The White House with his Putin-Versteher rhetoric.
Fox news has gone into higher gear to sell the idea of selling off Ukraine, and all the MAGA sycophants are lined up to support the Orange God.
This is Europe’s moment. Now is the time, where we Europeans must choose our own path. Trump chooses what is best for Trump. We must choose what is best for Europe.
Agreed, I like the idea of the euro wide procurement for military eqiopment, this was mentiined here a few months ago. Countries, inc the UK need to boost military spending, and be able to build everything from ships to aircraftl weaspons, so we do not have to rely on other countries
We can also have better ties with other NATO countries such as Canada, who are still part of the common wealth as well of course as other commonwealth nations.
Cyber security is also a big issue, we HAVE to tighten up our defenses, if china can have a so called 'great firewall' so can europe / uk. We still get a LOT of scam callers, which originate in countries such as Nigeria ad india (cite scam interceptors, bbc tv) so we need to find a way to deal with them, sure better education for people and help the vulnerable BUT recoverying the stolen money needs to also be a priority so that it does not fall in to the hands of hostile states.
