Trump tried to claim ownership of Greenland in his first term as president, someone should have seen that coming after he won, Denmark has increased some sort of military presence in Greenland.
Last time, people just mocked Trump and he backed off or more likely ran out of time.
What does concern me about trump is that he some how manages to pull things off, regardless of the cost in lives, financial or reputation of the US.
Trumps plan to expand the death penalty to other than just murder can be seen as another one of his crazy plans

However I have been here on fedi long enough to learn that in the US, doctors are terrified of abortions, even if an abortion is the only way to save a patients life.
South Carolina wanted the death penalty for people who have abortions.
However Trump also wants to expand the death penalty to sex offenders, rapists and 'monsters' (this may be in another bbc article. Again people may not read in to that, however being here the GOP language used to describe Drag Queens as paedophiles and groomers, springs to mind as to what his and the GOPS other motives are (or could be), add this all together and a commuity who are already terrified are going to be more terrified.
He can't come out and say those in the LGBTQ community should be executed, but he seems to be perhaps saying that in a way that is not immediately obvious.
Perhaps it just me just taking 1+1 and getting 3, but it just seems the language is pointing to something far wider, based on what is or has been said (and reported here).
@zleap I would advise Denmark to prepare to defend Greenland from the US if necessary.
It is not necessary to be able to sink the invader's ships, drive off their troops, and blow their planes out of the sky although all of those help big-time.
Rather, if the war is made more expensive than the value of the natural resources, rational people above and below Trump can be deterred. No guarantees if this does come down to fighting save one: many of us in the US can and will stab such a war of aggression in the back.
