Why isn't there an account or a bot that just teaches basic science concepts. Like high school level stuff, the things that people who got that education take for granted. Conservation of energy and scientific method and the different kingdoms of life and a star's lifecycle, and how we know. Bite sized facts about how things work.

And maybe another one for critical thinking concepts. I'm a bit qualified to do that one, I've done that research for a book project. But I'm not that organized, at least not yet.

@corbden

That's what the whole MOOC movement is about.

@munin Interesting. I've never heard of this. Is this related to things like Wikiversity etc?

I was thinking more a social media thing where is small bits that show up in people's feed whether they've sought it out or not. But this is cool for its own reasons.

@corbden

They've been around for a while. Khan Academy is one of the well-established ones. Several universities have issued their own at various times as well.

Cramming educational content into people's social media feeds may be appealing for some folks, but having a structured learning environment that is deliberately intended for learning, that you engage with intentionally to do so, is far more effective.

I would agree, social media feeds can get far too cluttered, I would much prefer to have a site with the learning materials on, of course feel free to utilise social media ( such as mastodon ) for more social stuff etc.
