With regard to AI

Is there a difference between:-

LLM (Large Language Models)
Gen AI (Generative AI)
ML ( Machine learning)

As I get the impression all 3 are being placed under the same AI Banner, which in some cases has nothing to do with Intelligence.

@zleap I would say that machine learning is more general. It is a broad category or computational/mathematical methods

Gen AI uses particular machine learning methods, one of which is LLM

But machine learning is not necessarily generative. For example it can also be used for classification tasks (e.g., object recognition in machine vision)

Thanks for this, I was thinking along those lines that there are differences between the 3 technologies, you have added more clarity to this.

I think the media are really not helping with this, but the media also mix up Free software (GNU) with Open source models for sofware.
