SO basically is is fine for Meta et al to suck up peoples personal data like a vacuum cleaner and no one is bothered as Meta is American, but forign companies are not allowed to, people should feel the same about protecting their personal data, regardless of who owns the company that collects it.
This seems more of a anti china (racial) thing than anything else.
