I keep seeing this sentiment that desktop Linux has become woke and gay.

Desktop Linux has been woke and gay the whole time. Y’all just for some reason decided you suddenly have a problem with it. We didn’t change, you did. Okay some of us came out of the closet. But we’ve been talking about diversity and inclusion for decades and equity has been the entire focal point of the free software movement since like the 70s! It’s woke gay anarcho-communism and you fucking loved it until 2016

I have not seen any reference to the Linux desktop being 'woke and gay' if this is what we are being branded, then the developers are doing what they should be doing, creating a UI that can be used by people regardless of who they are, and the developers understand or starting to understand the needs of the users come first.

Nothing wrong with that, is that any different to alt-text features being 'standard' and people at least try their best to provide alt text but those who need the alt-text the come out and say 'thank you' and that they appreciate us doing that.
