How BBC presents the anti-migrant hotel protests vs how we do at Bylines Network.

BBC lead with a Reform UK voter saying "We are not happy with these men in this hotel because we fear for our children”

We tell of the refugee children inside the hotel terrified by chants of “send them out!”

As you would expect there is a LOT of misinformation out there, mostly on main stream social media, I think this is attributed to the vaccum left by lack of actual information.

According to the standard, migrants are given £40.85 a week to live on, this is 1/2 what people on some benefits get.

So I am not sure where the idea they get Full benefits, free healthcare, phones and everything else, and that the hotels are somehow luxurious, etc etc comes from, but the government surely need to do a better job of relaying actual information, granted those who want to read and take on board will, those that don't will, but at least it will give the former group something to cite in any counter arguments.
