Why would anyone still be using Google for search when their insistence on giving LLM generated answers means every time you do a search you are burning a ridiculous amount of energy? DuckDuckGo has "AI" integration, but at least you can turn it off (which has the added benefit of sending a message to DDG about the (negative) value of adding a stochastic parrot to their site).

Because thanks to media etc Google is a byword for search, so you get nonsense terms such as I will google for the answer, rather than I will search for the answer.

It means other search engines don't get a mention.
