Breaking. Trump signs Executive Order saying he can do things the Constitution and Supreme Court says he can't. Also an Executive Order saying people aren't allowed to do things the Constitution and the Supreme Court says we can.

We know where this is going. Trump has indicated it clearly. Trump is a fascist dictator in the making and he needs to be stopped. One way or another.

But even dictators do not live forever.

Dictators ensure people can replace them on death and carry on, look at N Korea.

If Trump dies, vance takes over, there are enough people in government to carry on trumps agenda.

that is how and why regimes like this come to be and do not last forever (mostly). N Korea is a dynasty.

I am not up on the US constiution but if the president dies, the vice president takes over, if he / she dies the speaker of teh house takes over. So I would assume at some point a fresh election has to be triggered. Unless the speaker of the house can just be president for the remainder of the term. In which case what happens if the President / Vice president dies within say a week of winning the election?

That is sort of the scenario (in the democratic republic) indeed. The rest is uncharted territory...
