Came across this astonishing parasitic #plant (the corpse flower: Rafflesia arnoldii) which produces these giant flowers (up to 1 m wide) when reading yesterday about plant hunters in a biography of Sir Joseph Banks.
Turns out the plant also has some fascinating #biology having lost its #chloroplast #genes from its #genome
